Digitaldealz.net has some great prices on a vast variety of digital cameras, including the SLR cameras that you are referring to.
You can check out all their digital cameras here:
The Digital Rebel and the EOS-5D would be the ones I would be looking at, especially if you plan to major in it.
For starters, you can get some for below $200 but u can’t expect anything from that kind. But, there is ONE Canon range which is Canon A570 IS which is $170 - amazing price for such a beauty.
Mid ranges are around until $400 say? Go for the Canon and Sony range. It will help. Try Nikon and Pentax too. So, if your really trying for what you want, I advice you to go for the Canon IXUS line-up.Try going for IXUS 800 IS. Its everything you want.
Btw, Try going for a camera with image stabilization. It will help alot. Hope this helps!
I you are major photography in college. I reccommend you buy the SLR camera. Some of them are for beginer. They are much more flexible than the point-and-shoot camera. You may start with entry level model like
Canon : EOS Rebel XT + Standard lens
Nikon : D40 + Standard lens
i would be surprises if the school dont tell you to buy a SLR - contact them and ask them…….all the top schools i know of teach film first……….contact the school/tutors first then get a camera based on what they say
a
You should do whatever you need for school. For majoring in photography, I think it’s obvious you’ll need an SLR, or at least a camera you can screw on lenses.
